How to Check Balance on SASSA Grant Card?
All those who receive the SASSA grant every month in their bank accounts must keep track of their balance, as the SASSA grant will only be transferred to your bank account if you have a low balance that makes you eligible for the grant.
There is no use in collecting your SASSA grant in your account because if the amount in your bank account is higher than the set limit, your grant account will be reversed. Also, you need to monitor your current balance to manage your monthly expenses.

How Long Does SASSA Money Stay in the Card?
If you do not withdraw the SASSA grant or do not spend the full amount, the remaining funds will be there for you so that you can access them in the future. But keep in mind the accessibility to the remaining funds in the SASSA card is only limited up to three months, that is, 90 days.
Within 90 days, if you access your funds, you can get them; otherwise, if there is no activity for more than three months, SASSA has the right to suspend the account without any notification. Keep in mind that you can access the funds that you have left on your SASSA card within 90 days. This window is called a 90-day suspension window.
In this suspension window, grant recipients can apply for the reactivation of their accounts to get access to their outstanding payments. Otherwise, after 90 days, if there is no effort to reinstate the account, SASSA officials will cancel the account along with all the remaining money. The money is then returned to the National Treasury.
That means after this three-month suspension window, without any activity from the recipient side, the recipient has to reapply entirely in a new way depending upon the grant type he received. We can conclude that unused money in the SASSA card remains there until the recipient actively spends or withdraws it or until SASSA officials willingly cancel the account.
It’s better for you to consistently withdraw your money or spend the grant so your account is not suspended. Based on these terms and conditions, we can also say that the untouched money in the SASSA card can’t expire unless and until there is no account activity for more than three months or SASSA officials willingly cancel the account.
